The caves have been used for many different activities throughout its long history, they are also known as the Tannery, during the 15th & 16th centuries they were used as workshops for making goods from animal skins, they have also been used to make armour and bottles.  The Pillar cave features the remains of the only underground tannery in the country.

During the Second World War the caves were used once more, this time as a safe haven for the folk of Nottingham from the many high explosive bombs that were dropped on the city by the German Luftwaffe. 86 caves were made available as shelter from the bombing raids during the Blitz.

Our overnight investigation will take you deep into the 13th century caves where there has been many reports of strange activity over the years.
